Selected Thursday nights at Cova Santa are transformed through Gala by Ibán Mendoza — an immersive series that blends live performance, electronic music and surrealist staging into a single evolving experience.

Rather than a standard club night, Gala is designed as a conceptual journey. Each edition is built around atmosphere and artistic direction, using Cova Santa’s open-air hillside setting to create a shifting environment where music and performance coexist.

At the centre of the project is Ibán Mendoza, a multidisciplinary artist known for combining DJ sets with live musical elements. His approach moves between structured selection and improvisation, allowing each performance to evolve organically depending on the energy of the night.

Gala frequently incorporates live acts and guest artists, reinforcing its identity as a hybrid experience between concert, club and theatrical production. Previous editions have featured Booka Shade, Fritz Kalkbrenner, GHEIST, Henrik Schwarz, Jan Blomqvist, Rodriguez Jr., Mathew Jonson and Medusa Odyssey, alongside DJ sets from Anja Schneider, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, H.O.S.H., M.A.N.D.Y., Sébastien Léger, Tania Vulcano and Yulia Niko, among others.

Each date is treated as a standalone chapter rather than part of a continuous weekly format, giving the series a more curated and episodic feel across the summer.

Gala by Ibán Mendoza takes place on selected Thursdays throughout the season, including 7 May, 21 May, 4 June, 2 July and 10 September at Cova Santa.
